The Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Projects were approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy, appraised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) for basic designs, decided by PV Power for investment, and managed by the Power Management Board for project development implementation.
In accordance with bidding results recently announced, the consortium of Samsung C&T and Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (Lilama) has won as a general contractor.
Nhon Trach 3 & 4 Power Projects with a total capacity of 1,500 MW (750 MW each) and a total investment level of 32,486 billion VND. The projects are the first ones using LNG in Vietnam and developed in Ong Keo Industrial Park, Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai province. The projects will be Modern Combined Cycle Gas Turbines with 1-1-1 configuration (1 gas turbine, 1 heat recovery boiler, and 1 steam turbine). The projects should be developed within 36 months and are expected to be put into operation in the 2023-2024 period.
During the project deployment, there was the participation of the leading domestic and international consulting companies as Power Engineering Consulting Company 2 (PECC 2) and German FICHNER. The Consortium of Samsung and Lilama won the bidding package with a price of USD 942,856,615 (equivalent to VND 21,421bn), lower than estimates in the EPC bidding package for VND 2.302bn, but with a total capacity of 1,624 MW (812 MW each).
