Recently, TISCO group provided nearly 2000 tons of low background stainless steel plates and bars to the Guangdong Jiangmen neutrino project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for the fabrication of the stainless steel spherical reticulated shell of the main structure of the experimental station.
The Jiangmen neutrino experiment station is the second large-scale neutrino experiment project hosted by China. It is a major scientific experiment project of high-energy physics research in China. The project was started in 2015 and is expected to be completed in 2022. The test station is built 700 meters underground. The scientific goal of the experiment is to determine the mass order of neutrinos by using the neutrino oscillation of the reactor. It is of great significance for human beings to understand the basic microstructure of matter and the origin and evolution of the universe.
The key device of the test station is the detector with 20000 tons of alkylbenzene as a liquid scintillator in the glass sphere in the spherical reticulated shell of the stainless steel main structure. This detector is the liquid scintillator with the highest energy accuracy and the largest scale in the world.
